Welcome to Key Stage 1 (Infants)
This half term our topic has been ‘Significant Authors’ and the one we used as our inspiration was Quentin Blake.
In Literacy we have focussed on the wonderful story ‘Mrs Armitage on Wheels’ and even constructed a bike similar to Mrs Armitage’s in class as well as writing our own stories and writing information about Quentin Blake.
In ICT we have used the 2Publish program to produce text and images including our own version of Quentin Blake’s ‘All Join In’.
We have packed plenty of other work into this very short half term including extending our knowledge about the human body in Science, looking at the story of Easter in RE and lots of hard work in Maths on measurement and position ,direction and movement.
The Infants have also been out and about, taking a trip to Ashbourne to visit the library. Beth, the librarian, read us some lovely stories and we had the chance to browse and borrow a book. Thanks to the parents who were able to help with transport.
It’s been a very short half term, especially with the two snow days but we’ve had lots of fun and have worked hard. You always make me proud Infants. Have a wonderful Easter holiday – you deserve it!
