On moving to the Juniors (Meadow Class), the children begin to learn more independently, through discussion, challenge and exploration of topics. They begin to take on whole-school responsibilities, holding key positions on the School Council as well as acting as peer readers and organising playground equipment. Individual, paired and group work helps the children to share ideas to move their learning forward.
Towards the end of their time in the Juniors, Year 6 children are supported through the transition process as they move to their next school. They also have the opportunity to attend a residential learning programme which enables them to develop personal and teamwork skills away from the classroom.
