Religious Education in The Acorn Federation

All schools must teach RE to pupils at every key stage. The Acorn Federation follows the Derbyshire and Derby City Syllabus for RE and the Understanding Christianity approach.

Throughout their time at The Acorn Federation our children will (as stated by the National Curriculum):

  • Receive a curriculum which is balanced and broadly based, which promotes the spiritual, moral, cultural, mental and physical development of pupils at the school and of society.
  • Learn from and reflect on answers offered by the diverse religions and beliefs of the wider community.
  • Develop personally through exploring questions raised by their own and others’ experience.
  • Be prepared for the opportunities, responsibilities and experiences of later life.
Please find below all key documents related to recent and current Units of RE : Unit Overviews, Knowledge Progression Grids for each unit, Vocabulary Progression and Knowledge Organisers.
