Our Curriculum at The Acorn Partnership

At the Acorn Partnership we believe that it is important to provide our children with a broad, balanced and exciting curriculum.

Reception children in our Garden Class follow their own curriculum.   EYFS Framework information below.

Year 1 and Year 2 children in our Garden Class follow a two-year cycle of topics.

Our Meadow Class (Years 3, 4, 5 and 6) follow a four-year cycle of topics.

We use the National Curriculum as the starting point for our 'Acorn Partnership Curriculum'.

Staff are currently reviewing the curriculum to ensure it is well sequenced and expected learning is clear.  Curriculum documents are made up of several elements,

  • A curriculum intent, implementation and impact statement.
  • A unit overview.
  • A knowledge progression document.
  • Key vocabulary, sometimes this is included in the knowledge progression document.
  • Knowledge organisers – these are being produced as staff plan each unit of learning.

Assessment grids are used to assess pupil learning at the end of a unit of learning.  These assess the key knowledge and vocabulary taught during the unit.
If you require further information about our curriculum, or if there's something you cannot find, please contact the school or your child's teacher.
